This just in from the Time = Money department. Paul English has collated and created a Phone Tree Cheat Sheet, designed to help you reach that elusive Customer Service Representative (CSR) that can answer one of the many questions that spring up when going for offers from banks, credit card issuers, and other financial companies. It’s easy to send him updates too. Thanks to reader Jonathan for the tip.

I am trying to contact someone at the HSBC bank that handles mortgage/insurance claims. I rent a house that is owned by one of your customers and my kitchen caught on fire back in October and I’m really getting aggravated that I can’t even call HSBC and talk to a person without account info. I just want to the progress of this claim and I need to know how many contractor quotes are needed for the bank to issue a check so I can have my kitchen back. I am really, really at my breaking point, I would hate to contact the housing authority, but I have two young children and I need my damn kitchen. The home owners of this house are Sheryl and David Harvey of 15202 w.173rd street in Surprise, AZ. And the claim is for 3740 Salisbury Rd. in Jamestown, NY. Please, please, please, someone give me some info. asap before I go crazy.
