Even at $7.00 a ticket, I find Fandango to be a rip off. Why? Oh, I don’t know, maybe the $1.25 “Convenience” fee PER ticket?
I used Fandango once to “Avoid The Lines” and paid for my ticket with my credit card. I grudgingly accepted the fee. Then when I went to the “Kiosk” at the theater to print out my tickets, guess what, I still had to get in line to get my tickets.
Another issue. Someone had given my child a $25.00 Fandango Gift Card. She went to the theater to use it, but guess what, you can only use it on Fandango.com. Guess what else, YUP! That $1.25 per ticket “Convenience Fee” AGAIN! And Again, I have to go to the Ticket Window (with my confirmation number) to get my tickets printed out.
I don’t see ANY convenience in using Fandango AT ALL. It costs more, it doesn’t (or hasn’t for me) saved ANY TIME at all. What real advantage is there?
Trust me when I tell you, you are better off without Fandango.
The main convenience for me is to buy the ticket ahead of time so you know it is not sold out, and I usually pick up my tickets at the customer service desk if they don’t have a special scanner at their theaters. I’ve never had to stand in the normal ticket line.
The convenience fee is too high for regular use in my opinion as well, that is why I use only Fandango with a half-off promo. Still save a few bucks per person.
Ha. Paul is right. In the theater I frequent, line for Fandango is always longer than the actual ticket counter. So out of principle, I am not buying into this promo. Hope that helps the company to go down or become customer-friendly.
